Grade: 4

 

The salary scale for this role is €81,192 - €96,231; with Long Service increments of LSI1: €99,333 & LSI2: €102,438.

In this role, you will build and deliver sustainable business lead conversions for Irish food and drink manufacturers in the Ireland retail market and Irish suppliers to global ie multi-country footprint, retail customers. To strategically account manage gold customers in

the Ireland and global retail channel.

 

What you’ll do

  1. Strategic account manage key Ireland and global retail customers and lead the delivery to these customers of relevant Bord Bia expertise in sector knowledge, consumer insight and sustainability. 

  2. Create and maintain up-to-date key customer plans according to the Bord Bia customer engagement process.

  3. Populate and maintain up-to-date customer account records on Salesforce (Bord Bia’s CRM platform).

  4. Lead on the customer engagement element of Ireland retailer- owned Irish supplier business development programmes (supported by Sectors, Client Capability and Communications colleagues in Bord Bia).

  5. Lead on identification and execution of strategic partnership projects with Ireland and global retail customers.

  6. Be the retail channel insights expert, collating and disseminating relevant and timely market and sector information to Irish client companies, and sharing knowledge with colleagues in line with best practice set out by The Bord Bia Thinking House.

  7. Develop and deliver client services relevant to the Ireland retail channel e.g. market information and activation, in line with the market strategy implementation plan and the Bord Bia Corporate and Sector strategies.

  8. Build and maintain a network of contacts across functions within key Ireland and global HQ retail accounts. Identify and connect relevant global retail customer contacts with Bord Bia overseas offices.

  9.  Study and monitor global customer corporate strategy (eg sustainability, sourcing, premiumisation) and work with Bord Bia overseas colleagues to determine if and how Irish supply can help delivery this strategy at market level i.e. Ireland’s value proposition.

  10. Contribute to the development and annual review of Bord Bia’s strategy implementation plan for the Ireland market by developing retail channel strategy plans and delivering on assigned KPIs.

  11. Effectively manage assigned budgets in accordance with One Bord Bia processes and policies.

About You

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities

 

Knowledge:

  • 5+ years’ experience as an Business Development or Marketing professional, with experience in International Markets.

  • Irish Food, Drink & Horticulture industry

  • Generation and distilling market insights.

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Digital first mindset and comfortable with an agile culture focused on continuous improvement

  • Business Development and Key Customer Management.

  • Relationship Management, professional relationships with Irish food & drink manufacturers, grocery retail trade customers, media & government

  • Marketing and International Marketing

  • Professional implementation of high profile events or projects.

  • Fluent written and spoken English.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong verbal and report writing ability

  • Influencing and negotiating skills

  • Proficient business use of the full Microsoft Office suite

Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities

 

Knowledge:

  • Food and drinks industry experience an advantage

  • Operating professionally in different cultures

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Influencing and negotiating skills.

  • Experience in the use of Salesforce or equivalent CRM, video conferencing systems and online webinar platforms.
