Reports To: Head of Insight, Innovation & Brand Development

Grade: 5

 

The salary scale for this role is €51,349 - €70,450; with Long Service increments of LSI1: €72,982 & LSI2: €75,511.

In this role, you will develop, deliver and leverage a programme of foresight and insight studies delivering thought leadership in areas of strategic importance for the Irish food, drink and horticulture industry and individual client companies in pursuit of value capture and creation.

 

What you’ll do 

  1. Work with the SI Division, GBD and Sector team colleagues to proactively identify the strategic insights requirement for International markets, including commissioning and delivering primary research and foresight and insight trends studies with external agencies; identifying and leveraging market data sources; collaborating with colleagues to inform and plan insight and trend studies; co-ordinating the research procurement process; project managing the design and delivery of research activities; producing research and study-based reports; and assisting with publicising and disseminating Bord Bia’s insight studies at external events.

  2. Support client companies in the use of foresight, insight and trends studies to deliver their business goals, including fostering relationships with key customers; working with client companies on strategic planning, research, and brand proposition activities; designing and delivering consumer and market insight projects; and developing and facilitating insight activities and workshops.

  3. Support the markets team in activities to bring clients and customers together, including facilitating peer-to-peer key account management, mentoring and wider networking events; fostering relationships with local market trade experts who can act as business accelerators and mentors; supporting market study visits to the region; and co- ordinating the implementation of Bord Bia Marketing Fellowship assignments where relevant.

  4. Act as an ambassador of the Strategic Insight Division, including representing Bord Bia at external fora, making presentations on behalf of the Strategic Insights Division; seeking out speaking opportunities for Bord Bia to present ‘Cultivate’ and other strategically significant programmes and activities; and continuously developing own regional market knowledge and expertise to become a regional market insights expert.

  5. Manage the development and performance of the graduate team member by determining and delegating priorities, structured in a formal development plan, and reviewing / supporting through regular formal PDP and PGP conversations, plus informal feedback and coaching.

  6. Manage assigned budgets in accordance with One Bord Bia procedures.

  7. Adhere to the One Bord Bia Operating Model. 

About You

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities

 

Knowledge:

  • 3+ years’ experience as an Insights professional, with experience in International Markets.

  • Foresight and Insight study design & delivery

  • Qual and quant. Research methodologies

  • Consumer and customer insight generation

  • Data analysis and presentation

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant field of study

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Agency/supplier Management

  • Presentation and communication skills

  • Influencing skills
