Overseas Market Specialist, Prepared Consumer Foods

The salary scale for this role is £65,472 - £80,476

Purpose

In this role, you will support the development implementation and measurement of Bord Bia’s client support services and activities, to build and deliver sustainable business lead conversions for Irish food and drink exporters in the sectors of strategic priority within the region.


What you’ll do

  1. Support PCF clients one to one and through Bord Bia services to develop commercial opportunities in the UK market, delivering on KPIs.

  2. Become a UK market insights expert, delivering thought leadership and facilitating knowledge sharing of market and sector insights with Irish client companies in line with best practice set out by The Thinking House.

  3. Proactively build and maintain a deep network of UK trade contacts in priority categories across all channels and in various roles within identified key accounts.

  4. Support Bord Bia Talent Academy placements in the UK. Manage one Bord Bia International Graduate and mentor Bord Bia Fellows with PCF client projects.

  5. Contribute to the development and annual review of Bord Bia’s strategy, particularly priorities for the PCF category in the UK.

  6. Effectively manage assigned budgets in accordance with One Bord Bia processes and policies.

  7. Adhere to the One Bord Bia Operating Model.

About You


Essential Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities


Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ operating in a marketing or business development role

  • Generating and distilling marketinsights

  • Successful implementation of trade and/or consumer marketing campaigns

  • Building professional relationships with suppliers, trade customers, media & government, both in Ireland, and the marketplace.

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Digital first mindset

  • Influencing and negotiating skills, adapted to the local culture

  • Fluent written and spoken English and proficient written and spoken local market language where applicable.

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills, with strong verbal and report writing ability

  • Proficient business use of the full Microsoft Office suite

Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities


Knowledge:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline, e.g. Business, Marketing etc.

  • Knowledge of the Irish Food, Drink & Horticultureindustry

  • Membership of relevant professionalbodies

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Experience in the use of Salesforce or equivalent CRM and video conferencing systems.

  • Experience operating professionally in different cultures
